GOD'S WAY where is God?
|
|
|
A couple had two little boys who were particularly mischievous. They were always getting into trouble.
Their parents new that if any misbehaviour happend in their area , their sons were probably involved.
The boys mother heard that the new Parish Priest had been successful in improving the behaviour of children, so she asked him if he would speak to her two boys. The priest agreed but asked to see them individualy.
The younger boy went to see him first. The priest a huge man, with a booming voice, sat the young boy down and asked him sternley, " Where is God" the boys mouth dropped but made no reponse. So the priest repeated the question in an even sterner tone. "Where is God" Again no attempt to answer. So the priest lent foward, shook his finger in the boys face and shouted ."Where is God". The boy got up and ran out of the room.
He arrived home out of breath. upstairs to his bedroom and hid in the wardrobe.
When his brother found him there, he asked "What's happened" The younger boy gasping for breath replied. "We are in big trouble this time. God is missing- and they think we did it.
I believe God is everywhere!

STORY BEHIND THE MESSAGE

A main message for LENT is REPENT, REPENT AND DO NOT SIN AGAIN
Jack was a painter. To cut costs, he would often thin the paint to make it go further. So, when the church decided to do some maintainence, Jack was able to put in the lowest bid and got the job. As always, he thined the paint down with turpentine.
One day while he was up on the scaffolding- the job almost finished- he heard a loud clap of thunder, and the sky opend. The downpour washed the thinned paint off the church and knocked Jack off the lscaffolding. He landed on on the lawn among the gravestones and puddles of worthless paint.
Jack knew that this was a warning from the Almighty, so he got on his knees and cried O' God forgive me! What shall I do?
And from the thunder a mighty voice: "REPAINT! REPAINT!. And thin no more"

I am one of the organizers of a forthcoming charity football event between Garforth Villa Managers and the cast from Emmerdale, taking place on Saturday July 12th at Garforth Town Ground. Last years game was played against Leeds United Old Boys and we raised over £6,000 for the British Heart Foundation. This year we are aiming to beat that and hope to see a crowd + 1,500 for what will be a fabulous day!
This year we are raising money for two charities. Due to my own personel circumstances,(my Daughter was born at 26 weeks) we are raising money for the Special Care Baby Unit (Neo Natal) at St James Hospital.
The other beneficiary is The Danial Yorath Trust Fund, supporting the Brain injury Reabilitation Trust (BIRT),
There are lots of attractions for all the family, Plus Beat the Goalie for you Footballers.
Tickets on the day are £4 Adults £2 Chidren or £10 for Family of 4

Starting tomorrow there is going to be a photo display of old Football Photographs.
They represent very many of EAST LEEDS TEAMS OVER THE PAST 60 YEARS. St NICHOLAS HAVE 2 of their teams. 1958 and 1995, Chris Moore and Dave Jordan are on the 1995 cup winning side.
